Introduction to Foundation Paper Piecing



Whether you're a beginner or an experienced quilter, a foundation paper piecing class provides a hands-on opportunity to enhance your quilting skills and create intricate, visually stunning quilt blocks. Students will leave with a completed 5” X 16” block and newfound confidence in using this technique for future quilting endeavors.

Foundation paper piecing is a great technique to have in your patchwork/piecing toolbag!

Supply List:

1. Sewing Machine

2. Small portable iron and ironing pad, optional

3. Sharp Pins

4. Paper scissors and Rotary Cutter (45mm recommended) with new blade

5. Open toe presser foot typically used for zig-zag stitching

6. Threads – neutral color with loaded bobbin to match

7. Sewing Machine Needles (80/12) Microtex are great)

8. Add A Quarter ruler – 12 inch

9. Wescott metal ruler with cork backing

10. Glue sticks (water soluble) – Kindergarten glue works too

11. Small paint brush or clean sponge with small water cup

12. Pen or pencil

13. Small cutting mat –a few are provided in class
